Your book’s description, or “blurb,” might be more important than the cover for hooking a reader. It’s the first thing they read, after the cover to know if it’s worth their time.
So, how do you distill your story down to a few potent paragraphs that will make your story irresistible? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the key elements every engaging blurb has, and how to shape your own blurb copy into that succinct super-hook that makes readers hit “buy now.”
Lisa Anselmo is an author, branding expert, speaker, and coach. She has spent most of her professional career in magazine publishing in New York City, working on such iconic brands as Allure, InStyle, and People, the largest magazine brand in the U.S.
Lisa’s memoir My (Part-Time) Paris Life: How Running Away Brought Me Home, (Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press), is a candid narrative of a woman searching for hope and healing in the city she loves after the death of her mother from breast cancer.
